Built in 1824 for Sultan Hussein Shah, the first Sultan of Singapore, Sultan Mosque (Masjid Sultan) is one of country’s most iconic landmarks, located in the historic Kampong Gelam district. It’s not only a place of worship but also a cultural symbol of the Malay-Muslim community. ( Openning hours: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM) {Note: Closed to visitors on Fridays during prayer times.}
