Constructed during the Ayutthaya period (1351–1767), originally known as Wat Salak, Wat Maha That Yuwarat Rangsarit Ratchaworamahawihan (วัดมหาธาตุยุวราชรังสฤษฎิ์) is one of Bangkok’s most important royal temples, located in the historic Rattanakosin district near the Grand Palace.
