Known as Hindu shrine dedicated to the god Brahma, revered in Thai culture as Phra Phrom, and is famous for its golden statue, lively rituals, and cultural significance, Thao Maha Brahma is one of Bangkok’s most iconic spiritual attractions, better known internationally as the Erawan Shrine. Built in 1956 after repeated mishaps during the construction of the Erawan Hotel. An astrologer advised erecting a shrine to Brahma to appease spirits and bring good fortune. Today, it is one of Bangkok’s most visited shrines and has become a cultural landmark, drawing millions of visitors annually for both spiritual devotion and cultural curiosity.
