Located in Lantau Island, Hong Kong, Tung Chung Fort is a stunning military structure surrounded by villages. It was build in 1174 and 1189 to defend against smugglers and pirates. The fort was rebuilt in 1832 and used to defend the coast until the British lease of the New Territories in 1898. It's a stunning place to learn from Hong Kong's defensive past, to enjoy the scenenic views and explore well preserved military site. (Fees can be taken for the entrance).
