Sheung Yiu Folk Museum is located within the scenic Sai Kung Park and covers an area of 500 square meters. It was originally a Hakka village built in the late 19th century. In 1981, the village and the lime kiln next to it were declared architectural monuments. The restored village includes dwellings, piggeries, a cattle shed, a six-meter-high watchtower, a spacious drying terrace and other exhibits such as agricultural tools and household items of the Hakka people, recreating the rural life of the village in its heyday. An audio-visual gallery shows video programs introducing the history of Sheung Yiu Village and local culture.
