In the center of Port Louis there is a theater opened in 1882, which is the first theater in the Southern Hemisphere. Its building is made in accordance with all the traditions of classical French architecture. The facade is decorated with columns, and in front of the entrance there is a forged lantern. Currently, the theater hosts opera performances and concerts.
