The stunning underwater waterfall, located along the shores of Le Morne Brabant on the southwestern coast of Mauritius, is actually an optical illusion. This illusion occurs due to sand and silt deposits, which, under the influence of strong underwater currents, move to the edge of the sea rift located there and fall to a depth of 4000 meters. Thanks to the different shades of sand, you get the impression that you are seeing a seething and foaming waterfall. This incredible landscape can only be seen in Mauritius and is best observed from above by flying over it in a helicopter or seaplane.
