It encompasses lush forests, tranquil lakes, rugged mountains and rushing waterfalls. Along the reserve's network of scenic trails, visitors can immerse themselves in its natural wonders, meeting endemic reptiles such as the Telfair skink and elusive mammals like the Mauritian flying fox. Ebony trees and rare orchids bloom here next to towering palm trees and cascading waterfalls. Bird lovers can admire the sight of colorful, rare birds. The reserve can be explored at your own discretion: night safari, trekking, trips on SUVs, ATVs, buggies, mountain bikes or trekking. Bel Ombre received the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere certificate.
