The parish church became St Louis Cathedral in 1847. After the restoration carried out in 2007, the style of the cathedral remained unchanged. A monumental, stately building flanked by two stone towers, it is the most popular image on postcards of Mauritius. Inside, the cathedral is decorated with exquisite stained glass windows and frescoes made by the hands of ancient masters. And all this splendor amazes even more if, while you are under the arches, an ancient organ sounds.
