Chini Ka Rauza is Agra’s hidden Persian gem, built in 1635 as the tomb of Afzal Khan Shirazi, Shah Jahan’s poet‑scholar and prime minister. Its name — “China Tomb” — comes from the exquisite glazed tilework in turquoise, orange, and yellow, reminiscent of Chinese ceramics. Unlike the marble perfection of the Taj, this monument celebrates color and calligraphy, with Quranic verses inscribed on its walls.
