Teen Murti House, designed by British architect Robert Tor Russell, was the official residence of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, for 16 years until his death in 1964. Today, it houses the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, the Centre for Contemporary Studies, and the Nehru Planetarium. Unlike purely architectural monuments, Teen Murti Bhavan is a living interpretation space — blending Nehru’s personal history with India’s post-independence journey. Visitors can explore Nehru’s preserved study, exhibits on freedom struggle leaders, and interactive displays on India’s democratic evolution.
